Agro chemical product has killed all 24 family members.
The State Commissioner for Health, Sokoto Nigeria - Dr Ali Inname on Tuesday, 10th August 2021 confirmed the death of 24 family members after eating contaminated food. He stated that the incident occurred on in Danzanke village of Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The commissioner explained that the incident was caused by a popular chemical fertiliser know as "Gishirin Lalle" in Hausa”. This chemical was mistaken for a seasoning by domestic family cooking which was considered as common salt.
Sadly, the whole family lost their lives, except two female members, who only tasted the food. The two are currently responding to treatment, hopefully they will survive. The commissioner urged the public to learn from this incidence and keep away any poisonous chemicals from easy reach.

Please let us store our food products very well to prevent pest and rodents from getting access to poison it. We should be very cautious to wash hands regularly with soap and water after using any chemical products.
