 GHANA EDUCATION SERVICE HAS INSTRUCTED TEACHERS TO PAY GH₵75 EACH FOR CPD TRAINING WORKSHOP IN KETU SOUTH MUNICIPALITY

It is reported that, teachers in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region are being persuade by stakeholders in the municipal education office to pay seventy five Ghana cedis (GH¢75.00) each before they can take part in the training workshop. The letter explained that the GH ₵75 will cover the tuition, feeding, certificate and administration codes.


The letter was signed by the Ketu South Education Directorate and has been distributed to all Heads of Basic Schools in the Municipality. The letter directed the teachers to pay the said money to aid them to participate in the CPD training workshop. According to the Directorate, the training workshop is centered on Continuous Professional Development and Sensitization on Educational Polices.




The letter signed by the Municipal Director of Ketu South Mr. Michael Yao Tsuiatorfe said, Exams Ethics Marshals has been authorized by the National Teaching Council to organize Professional Development Training Workshop on Sensitization on Educational Policies for teachers in the Ketu South Municipal Education Directorate.


The Programme scheduled to take place from 27th October, 2021 to 29th October, 2021 is categorized under three zones thus: Agbozume Zone, Denu-Adina Zone including Afloa North Circuit and Afloa Zone - Aflao East, Afloa West and Afloa Central circuits.



Below are the modules for the Training Programme:

1. CPD Framework and point building System


2. Teacher Licensing


3. Standards and Compliance and Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP)


4. Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020, Act 1023


5. Teacher usage of the NTC Portal


The municipal education director entreated all teachers to take part in the training workshop because, it will award them eight (8) Continuous Professional Development Points.

Please prepare because your district may be next, the truth is they will not rest until they collect all the CPD allowance from teachers. Remember they started with laptops and now this.
