TEACHER TRAINEES TO BE EXEMPTED FROM LICENSURE EXAMINATION - DR. CHRISTIAN ADDAI POKU
Teacher Trainees in the 46 colleges of Education in Ghana are to be exempted from licensure examination.
Dr. Addai Poku, the Registrar at National Teaching Council (NTC) in his message to the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana yesterday assured them of this solid course which is being worked on.
He explained further to the association the reason behind the exemption which centered on the introduction of entrance examination to colleges of Education.

Ghana Basic Education Skills Test (GBEST) is the name given to the yet implemented entrance examination in the various colleges of education.
Dr. Poku further explained that teacher trainees will be accessed in the field of literacy, numeracy before being enrolled into the college and thus need not write these courses again after completion.
He stated that teacher trainees will only be accessed on their specialism, in which people who are pursuing Science will be tested and others doing Mathematics will also be tested based on their specialism.
Until the introduction of GBEST, trained teachers are to prepare for the licensure examination before posting
