MINISTRY OF FINANCE - 40,093 GHANAIANS TO BE RECRUITED INTO THE GHANA EDUCATION SERVICE



The Ghana Education Service is set to open the 2021 portal for the employment of staff into the Service.


The information received by Obibinii Ba Media, indicates that a total of forty thousand and ninety-three (40,093) Ghanaians will be recruited into the Ghana Education Service (GES) starting this November.


Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Abena Asare Osei disclosed this at meeting with the leadership of Newly Trained Teachers Forum (NTTF), when she explained reason behind the delay in issuing financial clearance to recruit Newly Trained Teachers.



The leadership of Newly Trained Teachers Forum (NTTF) met with Abena Asare Osei on 21st October, 2021. She is in charge of all financial clearance for employment. At the meeting they discuss issues regarding the delay in releasing the financial clearance to recruit the 2020 batch of trained teachers and other year batches backlog.



The Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Abena Asare Osei made it clear that, the Ministry of Education has presented a total of 40,093 people to be recruited into the Ghana Education Service (GES) which is more than the previous years' figures and they will include Teaching and Non Teaching staff from the forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education and University graduates.


Hon. Abena Asare Osei added that, the Ministry of Finance is making provisions to include all the said categories hence the delay in the recruitment process. She reassured the Newly Trained Teachers Forum Executives that all qualified teachers will be employed, financial clearance will be issued in November 2021 for the processing for New Qualified Teachers.



Not withstanding the delay in the recruitment process of the Newly Trained Teachers, the Minister said teachers are still the first priority of government when it comes to employing.
